Yield: 2 cups
Skill Level: Intermediate

  • 1 egg white
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • 2 cups Fisher® Deluxe Mixed Nuts
  • ½ cup brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 1 ½ teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon ground allspice
  • ⅛ teaspoon ground chipotle chili pepper

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.

  3. In large bowl whisk egg white and water until foamy. Add mixed nuts; mix gently to coat. Place nuts in colander; drain 5 minutes.
  4. Meanwhile, place sugar, cinnamon, allspice and chili pepper in large resealable plastic bag. Seal bag; shake to blend. Add nuts to bag; shake to coat.
  5. Arrange nuts in a single layer on prepared pan (discard remaining sugar). Bake 13 to 15 minutes stirring once halfway through baking.
  6. Move from oven to cooling rack. Cool nuts completely in pan.

This is an easy recipe. I found it on a walnut bag and used only walnuts. Doubled the amount of nuts. Will reduce amount of sugar next try and increase chipotle powder. I left them in oven after baking time to help them dry out, just turned off oven and let them set in oven while it was cooling. This is a quick treat.

Absolutely delicious. Everyone loved them.

Love it, easy to make and good.
