Chocolate Pecan Brownies

Here’s an easy recipe for rich and tasty brownies, studded with pecan halves for extra nuttiness.

  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, cut into pieces
  • 6 squares (1 oz. each) unsweetened chocolate, coarsely chopped
  • 1⅔ cups granulated sugar
  • 4 eggs, lightly beaten
  • 1½ teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1¼ cups Fisher® Chef’s Naturals Pecan Halves, chopped and divided
  • ½ teaspoon salt


  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Spray 9 x 13-inch pan with no-stick cooking spray; set aside.
  2. Place butter and chocolate in 1-quart microwave-safe bowl. Microwave on HIGH 60 to 90 seconds stirring every 30 seconds until chocolate is melted. Stir in sugar. Add eggs and vanilla extract; mix well.
  3. In large bowl, combine flour, ¾ cup chopped pecan halves and salt. Add melted butter mixture to flour mixture, mixing until just combined.
  4. Pour brownie mixture evenly into prepared pan. Sprinkle remaining ½ cup chopped pecan halves over top.
  5. Bake 23 to 25 minutes. Remove to cooling rack; cool completely. Cut into bars to serve.
